Geoduck | Seattle

THE MOST DIFFERENT THING I HAVE EVER EATEN! 😱

This different animal is called Geoduck, pronounced Gooey-duck. It is the largest mollusk in the world, reaching up to 2 meters in length. Geoduck has this shape because it digs in the bottom of the sand and it has the shell inside and the "neck" out. It is native to the northwest of the USA and western Canada (Washington / British Columbia). Also, it is one of the animals with the longest life and can live up to 140 years. The oldest that has already been cataloged reached 168 years.

One of the biggest producers here in Washington is @taylorshellfish farms and I found out that they have some restaurants in Seattle, where they serve Geoduck and the best Oysters and Mussels in the region.

And I decided to try Geoduck's sashimi, which comes with wasabi, lemon, and soy sauce. On the left is the "neck" and on the right is the "belly". The flavor does not compare to any other seafood I have tasted before, it has a more sweet and strong flavor and has a more crunchy texture than other types of mollusks.

Now tell me, would you try Geoduck?
