Aburi Kama-Toro and Uni | Japan

In Seattle for a few days, and one of the best things here is the Asian restaurants.


Today I decided to go to a restaurant that I wanted to visit for a long time: Tamari Bar. I already knew that they have the best fish, seafood, and cuts of meat, so I ordered the Aburi Kama-toro and Uni box.

Kama-toro is one of the noblest parts of tuna, it has a lot of marbled fat between the meat and is therefore extremely tender. In a tuna, you can get very little of this meat, so it is a rare cut.


Uni is a sea urchin and is something I have wanted to experience for a long time. It's delicious! I had heard about how delicious it is, and I can attest it really is. It melts in your mouth like butter and then comes the taste of the sea at the end. It is also very rare.


I loved that experience and would order it again. And would you try it?
